Minnesota Clean Diesel Grant Program has 1.57 million dollars available for truckers through the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA)
MPCA has received a grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s National Clean Diesel Campaign to fund projects that reduce diesel emissions through the purchase of the following technologies:
> Idle reduction devices (especially for long-haul trucks)
> Emission control devices (i.e. diesel retrofits)
> Engine repowers
Restrictions do apply to projects that can be funded and except for emissions control devices (which are funded at 100% of cost) a match requirement of up to 50% may be applicable.
NOTE: If you pull a refrigerated trailer that won’t comply with California’s Transport Refrigeration Unit regulation and you intend to operate that trailer in California, this grant money can be used to repower the TRU or install a particulate filter.
Applications for funding are now being accepted and must be postmarked NO LATER than June 25, 2009 to be considered.
